Individual Counseling

Anxiety, depression, conflict, feelings of loneliness and insecurity, and other forms of internal suffering are part of the human experience. They manifest in different ways at various times in your life. I will work alongside you to grow in your awareness of the ways in which you cope, manage, and tend to feelings of discomfort and pain. As you grow in your awareness, you will work toward making informed choices that align with your values, goals, and hopes for your future.

Growing in your awareness will enable you to create a context for change. People are adaptable beings who have the ability to increase in psychological flexibility. Safe within the counseling environment, together we will identify patterns in your life and seek to find alternative ways of coping, thinking, and responding.

All people have innate strengths that are uniquely theirs. As you grow in your awareness and flexibility, we will look closely at your unique set of attributes. Focusing in on your optimal potential, together we will identify and learn how to best apply your strengths in an effort to make the desired changes in your life.

Couples & Families

I take a humanistic approach, specifically Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), to collaboratively work alongside couples and families to increase your awareness around patterns of thought and behaviors that may be preventing you from connecting with the people in your life who matter most. Together we will expand upon and reconfigure your emotional engagement and presence.

EFT serves as a scientific and theoretical base from which I am grounded. This model captures the essence of Attachment Theory and our need for connection with others. My role as a counselor is to guide you and your family along a path that leads to increased emotional responsiveness and connection.

Executive functioning skills and school

Executive Functioning Skill Development

Life skills necessary for success in the classroom are not typically taught directly. Some of these skills include: time management and organization, self-monitoring, initiating tasks, and cognitive flexibility.

Change happens through experience. I provide hands-on, experiential sessions where you begin practicing EF skills. I prioritize creating a safe, welcoming, and nonjudgemental environment where you will feel supported and understood. People learn best in a deeply collaborative context; relationship serves as the foundation of the growth and learning that will take place.
